Studio Art

This page will showcase some art that I make while I am in my academy art class. Once again though you have to come back in a while, so I can put together some creations.

Project  One

Organic Abstraction

For this project we got to choose different shells and bones to create a close up image. For mine, I chose two shells and a piece of coral. The medium used was oil pastel.

Project  Two

Still Life and Realism

This project was a still life that my whole class got to set up. My angle of the set up was pretty difficult due to the mask having a mesh fabric right in the front. I did this using a charcoal pencil.

Project  Three

Figure Drawing

This was one of my favorite projects this year. for this we had to do a figure drawing that had a lot of skin showing so we could work on getting the right lights and darks within the waves, wrinkles, and creases on the skin. I think I could've gone darker on some spaces but overall it came out good. The medium used was ebony pencil.

Project  Four

Portrait Painting

For this project we had to do a self portrait. This style is not my strong suit, neither is the medium which was oil paint. I feel like I should've taken a different approach with this piece when doing the darks and lights on my face. I never finished it but maybe in the future I will.

Project  Five

Alternate Media

This piece I am so proud of, it took a long time to get it done but the process was fun. We had to create an image using any material other then your normal art supplies. In the image I made my dog and as my medium I use fabric and to achieve the furry look, I hand plucked threads from the fabric.

Project  Six

Interior Space Perspective

So far out of all the work that you saw above this is my number one favorite piece. For this we had to do an interior space from perspective, using ebony pencil. At first I was nervous because I didn't know how I was going to do the marble effect around the fireplace but with some time I was able to get it to a point where it looked good.
